In what feels like many many moons ago, I met my dear friend Nichole. What I have always loved the most about her is her ability to have fun, her loyalty to her friends, the amount of love and support that gives to them as well. If you ever needed anything Nichole was the one that you could confess your darkest secret too and not feel judged but nothing but love, understanding, and support. I’ve watched her navigate being a single mother, buying her FIRST home (painting-which we turned into the best party lol) and making her way thru the past years in search of her soulmate.
After a journey full of twists and turns, tissues and shew I dodged a bullet…..along came Joey. A funny laid-back guy who serves our country in the Coast Guard. He’s the calm to her storm, the one who makes her laugh even louder (by the way she has the cutest little laugh…and If I’m right she’s giggling right now and I can hear it as I type lol) She smiles in a way that I’ve NEVER seen her smile before. It’s one that’s truly full of pure joy, contentment, and peace. She knows that she has her soulmate and together they can weather any storm.
Speaking of a storm…..If you live on the coast then you know we had a couple of hurricanes make their debut. Well, Hurricane Florence made quite the debut. Now let me just say this, that hurricane shifted just enough that it spared my area and the Outer Banks. We got nothing compared to the New Bern, Wilmington, and surrounding areas. But the Outer Banks still had a mandatory evacuation, meaning that there was no wedding for Nichole and Joey. Heartbreak, disappointment, shock, and panic are just a few words to describe what they were going thru. Thankfully they had the best vendor team and everyone did their absolute best to make sure that they could reschedule Nichole and Joey’s wedding day.
Even though Nichole’s journey to the alter may have taken a little longer and she had to fight thru a heartbreaking cancellation due to a hurricane, she and Joey finally had their start to happily ever after. From her touching first look with her dad, where they shared the biggest hug, lots of tears and giggles that she was finally getting married and he was still alive to see it lol, to watching her future husband make sure that her son was dressed perfectly in his suit and the moment where Nichole arm in arm with her dad on one side and her son on the other gave her away to Joey…..was nothing short of special, touching and amazing to witness. I watched my friend bend slightly pulling up Joey’s hand and tenderly kissing it and smiling at him after they exchanged rings. It was a moment I certainly didn’t anticipate but I loved it because it showed a softer side of Nichole that most don’t get the privilege to see.
I couldn’t be more thrilled to share with you some of my most favorites pictures from Nichole and Joey’s Intimate Nags Head Golf Links Wedding. And I totally recommend grabbing a tissue! Because there were so many exciting and touching moments that will be sure to make you smile and shed a little tear!
