It’s always a blessing to meet new couples and serve them throughout their wedding journey. However, when your couple is a sibling or even a dear friend of a previous bride, it’s even more of a blessing. It’s beyond humbling knowing that you are given the chance to come back and celebrate with the same family & circle of friends! I love getting to catch up and reminisce about how much fun we all had together the first time and how excited we are all for the newest couple. Now you might just recognize Kaleigh, as she’s been a bridesmaid at TWO of my past weddings, her sisters wedding at The Bradford and her childhood friend Chelsea’s wedding this past winter at The Oaks of Salem.
So naturally, when Ryan asked Kaleigh to marry him, I was super excited for her. And when I got that email from Kaleigh about shooting her wedding, I low key cried! Her sister Taylar is very dear to me and I’ve been shooting her portraits since her own engagement, bridals, wedding, First Christmas, First Anniversary which turned out to be her pregnancy reveal and then Sweet Maverick’s newborn portraits. Over the past 3 years, I’ve gotten to know their family so well. So to be able to serve not just one sister but two sisters is beyond exciting and a HUGE honor! I can’t wait to capture Kaleigh and Ryan’s wedding and their future life events as well!
When Kaleigh and I talked about her engagement portraits, she really wanted that wooded outdoor, fall & warm golden glow. Oh goodness, how I prayed for the weather and sun to cooperate…no pressure at all right? I honestly couldn’t have asked for more perfect weather! They had a nice easy breeze, cooler temps but not chilly and that sun gave the most perfect golden glow I could have ever asked for! The textures and backdrop of the Coker Arboretum in Chapel Hill were exactly what Kaleigh was wanting in a location! And her outfit choices were absolutely on point! Her long off the shoulder emerald green dress paired with Ryan’s chambray shirt gave us just the pop for her portraits.
Oh and THANK you Kaleigh for trusting me! And for using UNC Chapel Hill’s campus even though you’re a PIRATE for life! You totally took one for the portraits! LOL
