When I met Danielle and Vaughney for their Hertford NC rustic fall farm engagement portraits, I could tell that there was something a little more special and unique about them. There was this comfort level, the kind of comfort that you can often see between a long time married couple. They were so at ease around each other. Vaughney and Danielle have a connection that runs deep. And when their eyes would meet, it’s as they almost forgot I was there. All I could think was, gosh they are just so natural together and they perfectly complete one another. How is it that they can be so mature in their relationship?
Simple….they’ve been together since middle school!
I’ve always said that every time I meet a new couple, I get to learn a little more about the depth & uniqueness of love. It can be in the way of special names, the way she giggles when he tells a really not so funny joke, the way he tucks her hair behind her ear or the way they steal each others attention. The list goes on and on. But there’s one unique quality that intrigues me, and that’s the sweetheart love or young love as some say. I find myself asking so many different questions. How in the world did you manage to stay together? When did you realize that this was so much more than that “young love” or even a “first love”?
For Danielle and Vaughney their love story began that day when they saw each other for the first time in art class at Perquimans Middle School. As they each grew individually they made sure to continue to grow a special bond together. They find excitement in being around each other as they play ball, shop, watch movies or visit theme parks. They share a love for God and their faith. And most of their attention goes to their 3 sweet pups, Hoagie, Goldie, and Boomer! And yes they are as precious as they sound!
