As the year is quickly coming to an end, all I can do is reflect on how amazing it was. There were so many wonderful new venues, of course the new couples and their families and exciting new memories. And I thought that it would be really fun to go back and share a few of my favorite things from this past CFP Wedding season! In deciding what I was going to share this year, I knew that I wanted to mix it up. So starting today off is the 2016 Favorite Wedding Day Sweet Treats Collection!
If you don’t know, I have a terrible sweet tooth (my dentist’s opinion…not mine). And one of my favorite perks of being a wedding photographer is the ability to taste just about every cake & dessert that is served at a wedding. Oh gosh did I have the BEST time this year sampling every sweet! And you guys…these couples and their bakers didn’t disappoint! Some of my couples even made a few of their wedding desserts from their secret family recipes! How awesome and personal is that?
This year my brides chose cakes that incorporated many different textures, flavors and embellishments! With all the cupcakes, mini truffles, homemade pies and the many cake flavors; it was so hard to just pick one favorite. Although I have to say I really loved Jen’s Granny’s Banana Pudding! Oh my goodness it was the perfect blend of bananas, pudding and cookies! The most interesting flavor this year would have to be the sweet potato & cream cheese flavored cupcakes from Chelsea + Hunter’s wedding.
I really loved seeing the many different cake embellishments and personalizations on the cakes this year! Besides the wide range of beautiful florals, my couples chose to top their cakes off with some of the classiest, cute, fun and unique cake toppers I have seen. With personalized monograms or little sayings, college mascots and even a Star Wars cake topper; these cakes showcased each couple’s personality perfectly. And they were the best way to accent a cake!
Enjoy the Wedding Day Sweet Treat Collection!
